Alex, Jack, and Kirsten are back with a brand new episode of Autism Talk TV! This is the 2nd episode we filmed at the ASA conference in Orlando, FL. Alex interviewed Shonda Schilling about her new book, "The Best Kind of Different: Our Family's Journey with Asperger's Syndrome." Schonda is married to professional baseball player Curt Schilling. Jack talked with David Geslak about physical fitness and autism. Both Alex and Jack talked with Kerry Magro of Autism Speaks about his role as a social media consultant.

That was great! I want to see more of it!
I do want to say that at first, I thought the whole thing was filmed at a plant store and it was only in the last segment that I realized it wasn't. The plants were very distracting.
Everybody seemed to be cool and laid back but the woman who wrote the book made me nervous.
But yes! I like it! I think you should put it on regular tv. I don't have regular tv so I don't know if it's on there or not.
But if it's not, it should be. A 30 minute weekly show. Do it!

Wonderful to see this up! Many interesting points are made. Shonda's husband played baseball with my dad. It is nice to see Autism Speaks employing autistics.
Also, I like seeing Jack more involved. He is very charming.
Thank you, Shonda - you're a great mother as well as author and presenter. In a sense, maybe you were *meant* to meet Aspergers. I really like your video for Wrong Planet.

Kerry is cool. I see people everyday, so its really nice to see people on the spectrum even if it is in a video (don't meet many irl, and if i do im not aware of it or they are not aware of themselves).
I would like to see more interviews, with people on the spectrum pls.

I feel like this is going to come out wrong but how can it be wrong if it's how I feel? Did anyone else read this book? Someone gave it to me so I read part of it a few months ago. I found it incredibly offensive. She probably felt she was honest & everything but she's really angry at her son in it. Maybe it gets "better" as you go along but I couldn't force myself to read anymore. She was angry about things that I feel that many children, not just aspies, would have a problem with. Her husband and her had to schlep the kids back and forth all of the time from state to state because of his career. She was mad that her son couldn't just go with the flow when her other kids didn't complain. However ask anyone with kids and they will most likely tell you that their children would have a problem with that too. If she is representative of Autism Speaks then I totally get why many people dislike the organization.
